About Our Site

PondExpert was formed to offer a unique reference point on designing, constructing and caring for your pond.

Everyone agrees that a pond can add so much to a garden, but sometimes getting everything right can seem a bit of a daunting challenge, whether you're working with an inherited pond that came with the house, or starting from scratch.

Whatever your reasons for wanting a pond - keeping fish, encouraging wildlife or providing a well-planted focal point to the landscape - and no matter how large or small your plot, this site will give you the ideas, know-how and answers to help you create and maintain the pond of your dreams. Step-by-step guides take you through building a variety of ponds and water features, while other articles will help you avoid the common problems with fish and plants, advise you how best to look after your pond, discuss safety issues and much, much more.

Written by experts with years of experience in building and caring for ponds, Pond Expert's unique and exclusive content was specially commissioned to provide a single UK internet resource to give the best possible help and guidance to aspiring British pond-keepers. From design and construction to decorating and stocking your pond, whether you're a beginner or a long-standing water-gardener, you'll be bound to find plenty to interest you on the site.

Our concern was that there was no single UK resource for interesting features and practical advice on this subject.

Our features and articles are written by experts - who have experience, or a particular interest in this area.

John, through PtS, is involved in a number of ventures including software and property companies. A percentage of revenue from these activities goes towards funding PondExpert and a number of similar sites.
